Healthy Baked Donuts/Doughnuts! ♥

Everybody can eat doughnuts finally! Tasty, juicy and topped with our favorite toppings!
But don’t you think those doughnuts contain a lot of fat and calories?
Well, these baked ones are the way to go to cut the fat and calories. Bake these guilt-free treats for kids, adults and of course teens and plus I'll show you how to prepare four different delectable toppings.

Firstly the ingredients required to prepare the Buttermilk doughnuts are as follows:

Nonstick Cooking Spray
1 cup Whole-wheat flour
1 cup all-purpose flour
½ cup sugar
1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
½ teaspoon salt
¾ cup low-fat buttermilk (1 percent)
2 large eggs
¼ cup honey
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Got all the ingredients ready? Let’s get baking………!

Preparation

1.       Preheat oven to 425°C. Lightly coat a doughnut pan with cooking spray

2.       Combine flours , sugar, baking powder, ground nutmeg and salt in a large bowl, stirring well with a whisk

3.       Combine buttermilk, eggs, honey, butter, and vanilla, stirring well with a whisk. Add buttermilk mixture to flour mixture; whisk until combined

4.       Spoon batter into doughnut pans, filling two thirds full. Bake in middle of oven until doughnuts spring back when touched and are golden on bottom (about 8 minutes). Let cool in pan slightly (about 4 minutes); turn out. Coat with toppings if desired.

Toppings:

Glazed: Combine 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice and 1 ½ cups powdered sugar, stirring well with a whisk. Dip one side of the cooled doughnuts into glaze; let cool on a rack, glazed side up.

Chocolate-Hazelnut: Melt 6 ounces bittersweet chocolate in a bowl in microwave until smooth. Dip tops of doughnuts into chocolate and place chocolate side up on a rack to cool. Sprinkle with ½ cup chopped hazelnut; let sit about 10 minutes.

Chocolate swirl: melt four ounces (1 cup) bittersweet chocolate in microwave until smooth. Fill a squeeze bottle or zip-top plastic bag (snip a tiny hole in one corner of bag) with melted chocolate; pipe chocolate onto tops of doughnuts. Chill doughnuts until chocolate sets.

Cinnamon sugar: combine ¼ ground cinnamon and ¼ cup sugar. While still warm, coat doughnuts in sugar; let cool on rack, sugar-coated side up.

Traditional doughnuts are fried in oil, so they are loaded with fat. We cut the calories and fat by baking ours in a doughnut pan.
So, all of you out there why not try some healthy doughnuts, its brilliant!

So At last here's my Tuesday's post - its  delayed but still it's here-(something is better than nothing) .
Yeah it's an Indian recipe .
I just love these bread pakoras. They are just perfect to be made at home in the evenings when sudden guests arrive ( I still remember the time when moms mouth would be wide open when my cousins used to give us a surprise - and she would be like" what do I do now? They can Atleast tell me five minutes before coming" and our last option used to be this. :-P)
Anyways here is the recpie.
I usually prefer it for breakfasts with a cup of milk ( I love milk!! ♥)
Ingredients:
Bread slices
1 cup  Bengal gram flour
1/2 cup water
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp chilli powder
2 pinches asafoetida (optional)
salt to taste

Method:
1. Slice your bread pieces into triangles.
2. Mix all the  dry ingredients In a bowl and add water to it to form a batter . Dont Make it too watery.
3. Heat oil in a pan.
4. Dip the bread slices in the batter and slide them slowly in the oil .
4. Deep fry the bread slices until golden brown .
5. Remove the slices from oil and soak the oil in a tissue paper. ( excess oil is nt god for health

Honey Peanut Rolls

Honey and peanut butter spread on brown bread slices, sprinkled with walnuts and rolled.
Yesterday I was getting late for school and realized mom didn't make anything for breakfast and that too it was a sports day so it was going to be hectic and on this kind of day having no breakfast was a shock for me!
I didn't even want to make all that boring usual breakfasts so started experimenting ( well I usually get these ideas in the morning).
And see what my experiment turned out to be! it was YUMMY!

Falafel

This is such an awesome recipe made of chickpeas.
