Ruffled Mini Cushion


                                                         
             

I am once again sorry for not having posted for so many days! 
I had my final exams going on (they are still going on!) and I couldn't find time to post. I have a lot of patterns in store so get ready to "be hooked" this March.
So this pattern is of a very easy and beautiful mini cushion! Aren't you excited?
Well as you all know I kind of really like ruffles if you remember my flirty ruffle scarf from the previous post so again I kind of went back to them and decided to create a pretty mini cushion!
Also I have definitely been inspired for this mini cushion also by something so stay tuned to find out what inspired me to make this pretty piece!



So what are we waiting for? Let's get started!

The materials needed are:
1. Yarn of two different colors , I used maroon and beige.
2. Hook size 2 or 4 depending on how loose you want the ruffles to be.
3. Pillow stuffing

Stitches used:
 Sc- single crochet
Sl st- slip stitch
Hdc- half double crochet
Magic ring

Pattern:
Back side (maroon): 
Row 1- Make a magic circle and 6 single crochet in it. Slip stitch to the first sc and join
Row 2- Chain one and 2 sc in each stitch around. Slip stitch to the first sc and join-12 sc
Row 3- Chain one and 2 sc in each stitch around.Slip stitch to the first sc and join-24 sc
Row 4- Chain two and Hdc in each stitch across .Slip stitch to the first sc and join- 24 Hdc
Row 5- Chain 2 . * 2 Hdc in first stitch one Hdc in next stitch * repeat from * across. Slip stitch to the first sc and join- 36 Hdc
Row 6- Chain 2. * 2 Hdc in first stitch and two Hdc in next two stitches*  * repeat from * across. Slip stitch to the first sc and join- 48 Hdc
Row 7- Chain 2. * 2 Hdc in first stitch and three Hdc in next three stitches.*  * repeat from * across. Slip stitch to the first sc and join- 60 Hdc
Row 8-Chain 2. * 2 Hdc in first stitch and four Hdc in next four stitches.*  * repeat from * across. Slip stitch to the first sc and join- 72 Hdc
Row 9-Chain 2. * 2 Hdc in first stitch and five HDC in next five stitches.*  * repeat from * across. Slip stitch to the first sc and join- 84 Hdc
Row 10- Chain 2. * 2 Hdc in first stitch and six Hdc in next six stitches.*  * repeat from * across. Slip stitch to the first sc and join- 96 Hdc 
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Front part (beige):

Row 1- Make a magic circle and 6 single crochet in it. Slip stitch to the first sc and join
Row 2- Chain one and 2 sc in each stitch around. Slip stitch to the first sc and join-12 sc
Row 3- Chain one and 2 sc in each stitch around.Slip stitch to the first sc and join-24 sc
Row 4- Chain two and Hdc in each stitch across .Slip stitch to the first sc and join- 24 Hdc 
Row 4.1 - Slip stitch in each stitch -24 slip stitches. 
Row 5- Chain 2 . * 2 Hdc in first stitch one Hdc in next stitch * repeat from * across. Slip stitch to the first sc and join- 36 Hdc
Row 5.1- Slip stitch in each stitch -36 slip stitches. 
Row 6- Chain 2. * 2 Hdc in first stitch and two Hdc in next two stitches*  * repeat from * across. Slip stitch to the first sc and join- 48 Hdc
Row 6.1- Slip stitch in each stitch -48 slip stitches. 
Row 7- Chain 2. * 2 Hdc in first stitch and three Hdc in next three stitches.*  * repeat from * across. Slip stitch to the first sc and join- 60 Hdc
Row 7.1- Slip stitch in each stitch -60 slip stitches. 
Row 8-Chain 2. * 2 Hdc in first stitch and four Hdc in next four stitches.*  * repeat from * across. Slip stitch to the first sc and join- 72 Hdc
Row 8.1- Slip stitch in each stitch -72 slip stitches. 
Row 9-Chain 2. * 2 Hdc in first stitch and five HDC in next five stitches.*  * repeat from * across. Slip stitch to the first sc and join- 84 Hdc
Row 9.1- Slip stitch in each stitch -84 slip stitches. 
Row 10- Chain 2. * 2 Hdc in first stitch and six Hdc in next six stitches.*  * repeat from * across. Slip stitch to the first sc and join- 96 Hdc 
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Ruffles (maroon):
Row 4.1 - Join the maroon yarn on the first slip stitch of row 4.1 and chain 2 . Make 2 more Hdc in the same slip stitch. 3 Hdc in each slip stitch across -72 stitches
Row 5.1- Without joining to the first stitch proceed to the next row that is row 5.1 and make 3 Hdc in each slip stitch-  108 Hdc
Row 6.1 -Without joining to the first stitch proceed to the next row that is row 6. 1 and make 3 Hdc in each slip stitch- 144 stitches 
Row 7.1-Without joining to the first stitch proceed to the next row that is row 7. 1 and make 3 Hdc in each slip stitch- 180 Hdc
Row 8.1-Without joining to the first stitch proceed to the next row that is row 8. 1 and make 3 Hdc in each slip stitch- 216 Hdc
Row 9.1 - Without joining to the first stitch proceed to the next row that is row 9. 1 and make 3 Hdc in each slip stitch- 252 Hdc.
Slip stitch to first Hdc of row 9.1 and fasten off. Weave in the extra ends.

Joining:
1. Take both the front and back side and align them stitch to stitch.2.
 With both strands Of maroon and beige, insert your hook into each of the stitches of the front as well as the back sc them together continuing for each stitch
3. Stop when there are at least 15 stitches left and start filling the pillow. Then continue the seam.
3. This forms a very colorful and bright edging to the pillow like a seam 
4. Slip stitch to the first sc and fasten off, Weaving in the ends.

Optional: If you do not like the empty space in the centre of the pillow, you can add ruffles there also or add an appliqué or a flower in the centre such as the secret garden flowers.
