Trendy Wristers

So spring/summer is here finally! The season of blooming flowers, colors, liveliness, ice creams and also sweaty pigs like humans! ;)
As it has been a long time since I had posted any CROCHET patterns, here is a simple yet elegant, trendy and airy pattern just for spring/summer!
Now, you would say who wears Wristers in summer?
Well sweethearts don’t judge a book by its cover! Unless you have made these pair of trendy and elegant with relative easiness I assure you that you’ll wear them everywhere!
And the best part? - Its free size and stretchable, anyone can wear them anywhere!

So let’s get started shall we?
In this pattern I have used a new stitch-created by me of course- which I call THE BLOCK STITCH. Because when you make it, it’s kind of like a block but HOLLOW!
All you will need:
  1.   A neutral color yarn like – white, black , grey or beige (neutral so that you can pair them with any outfit)
  2. ·         A 4.0 hook
  3. ·         Your wrists!
  4. ·         Optional: the opposite color ribbon

Pattern:
  •   Chain 26.
  •  Slip stitch in to the first chain to form a ring
  •   Chain 1
  • Single crochet in first chain and in each chain across. Slip stitch in to the first single crochet.(26 sc)
  • Chain 2
  •  Half double crochet in first single crochet and in each single crochet across. Slip stitch in to the first half double crochet. (26 hdc)
  • Chain 1
  • Single crochet in first chain and in each chain across. Slip stitch in to the first single crochet. (26 sc)
NOW COMES THE FUN PART!
  •  *CHAIN 5
  •  SKIP 2. Double crochet in to the third half double crochet stitch.
  • This creates the first block stitch.
  •     Chain 2, skip 2 and double crochet in to the third half double crochet.  Continue to do the same across. Slip stitch in to the 3rd chain(9 blocks)
  •   Chain 1
  • ·         Single crochet in first chain and in each chain across. Slip stitch in to the first single crochet. (26 sc)*
  •    Repeat from * to *. You get 4 rows of BLOCKS
  • Chain 2
  •  Half double crochet in first single crochet and in each single crochet across. Slip stitch in to the first half double crochet. (26 hdc)
  • Chain 2
  •      Half double crochet in first single crochet and in each of the next 22 single crochets. Stop when 4 single crochets are left(22 hdc)
  • Chain 4
  • Slip stitch into the 2nd chain  of the previous CHAIN 2
This creates the cavity for the thumb
  •       Chain 2
  •          Half double crochet in first single crochet and in each single crochet across. Slip stitch in to the first half double crochet.(even on the four chains) (26 hdc)
  •          CHAIN 5
  •          SKIP 2. Double crochet in to the third half double crochet stitch.
  •          Chain 2, skip 2 and double crochet in to the third half double crochet.  Continue to do the same across. Slip stitch in to the 3rd chain(9 blocks)
  •          Chain 1
  •          Single crochet in first chain and in each chain across. Slip stitch in to the first single crochet. (26 sc)
  • OPTIONAL :As these gloves are free size, they may not be tight for everyone and be a little looser for you. If that is the case , then you can get some ribbon, insert it inot the fiorst block stitch and tie a bow!

 ALL DONE!
IT was really fun to make these Wristers so I hope you liked them!
And yeah, DON’T FORGET to Comment on what you think about it!

      Hello,
I am so glad you like these wristers.
I am really sorry for not mentioning the type of yarn used. I actually used cotton yarn as these are for summer. They would be more comfortable that way.
      Hope I could help.
P.s-your from UK? That's so cool!
