Traditional Boutique Clutch!

My favourite bag! I really love this cute boutique bag!
It just took me 15 minutes to make 1 of them!
I am so obsessed with the Shell Stitch that whatever I make is usually from this stitch only :P
The flower adds a cute finishing to the bag
Try it out and see how it works out for you!

Starting out: Ch 51.

Row 1: Work 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Continue working sc in each ch st to end. Join w/ sl st in 1st sc. (50 sc) You will now be working in rounds.

Rnd 1:  ch 3, 2 dc in same st or sp. - beginning shell.{Skip 2 stitches, then  work 3 dc in same st or sp in the next st.} Repeat between {} around. Join in top of ch 3. (17 Shells)
Rnd 2: Sl St in each dc of shell into sp between first two shells. Work ch 3, 2 dc in same st or sp . {(Skip 2 stitches, then  work 3 dc in same st or sp in the next st-shell)  in space between next shell.} Repeat between {} to end. Join in top of ch 3. (17 Shells)
Rnd 3-8: Repeat round 2.
Rnd 9-10: Ch 1. Sc in next st and in each st to end. Join in top of first sc. (50 sc)
Rnd 11: Ch 1. Sc in next 5 st. Ch 15. Count 15 and attach to 16th sc. Sc in next 9 st. Ch 15. Count 15 and attach to 16th sc. Sc in next 4 stitches. Join in top of first sc. (50 sc)
Rnd 12: Ch 1. Sc in next st and in each st across including each ch stitch to end. Join in top of first sc. (50 sc)
Rnd 13-14: Ch 1. Sc in next st and in each st to end. Join in top of first sc.

Finish off. Whip stitch bottom seam of bag together. Weave in ends.

  1. hi, I was wondering, after you say to chain 15, it says "Count 15 and attach to 16th sc" I am a little confused here...

    1. Hey, I am really sorry for the late reply.
      But here's you answer.
After the completion of eight row the ninth and tenth row mark the starting of the flap.
Therefore , in the Eleventh row you start making the cavity that is required to hold the bag to serve as a handle.
After you crochet five single crochets, you have to start chaining 15 then "count 15" refers to skipping the next 15 single crochets and attaching your 15 chains to the 16th single crochet by making a single crochet.
I hope that was helpful and you understood.
if you have any more questions please don't hesitate to comment or suggest for a video.
